Our Committment to the Armed Forces
Erewash Borough Council has signed up to the community covenant and Councillor John Sewell is our Armed Forces Covenant 'Champion', making sure we achieve our committment to serving personnel, veterans, their families and the bereaved.

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund
The Armed Forces Covenant funds local projects which strengthen the ties or mutual understanding between members of the armed forces community and the wider communities in which they live.

The funding priorities for April 2017 to March 2018 are as follows:
- families in stress - the fund opened for expressions of interest in March 2017. An information event was held on 5 April 2017 in central London. Expressions of interest had to be registered up to noon on 26 June 2017.
- strengthening local government delivery of the covenant - this programme is now open for applications. The deadline for applying is 27 November 2017. Guidance notes are avilable here.
- Armed Forces Covenant: local grants - This programme is now open for applications and decisions for the first round are expected in May 2017. Guidance notes are available here.
- a single grant to produce a map of need and an outcomes framework for the Covenant Fund - expressions of interest were invited in January 2017, with a decision to be made during February.
