New Erewash markets website

Working with local traders and partners, we are delighted to launch a new Erewash markets website to help celebrate the markets and trader community by demonstrating the thriving markets Erewash has to offer to local residents’ and visitors alike.

Packed full of useful information, this website highlights where the markets are located and on which days of the week they are trading.

Existing market traders will be able to easily access all forum minutes, newsletters, and other beneficial resources, as well as practical information for those who are new to market trading or are thinking about trading locally.

There is also an exciting calendar of events, so make sure you check the site regularly to make sure you keep up-to-date and don’t miss out on any of these special events.

Secretary of the Ilkeston Market Traders Committee, and Local Market Trader, Janet Hassall, said:

“The new website is a welcome additional facility in drawing attention to the markets as desirable and attractive places to shop and buy specialist goods from local traders offering excellent product knowledge, competitive prices and a personal service. We welcome every initiative which helps raise our profile and supports small businesses within the community during this time of recession, and hope it adds encouragement to shoppers seeking value for money especially in the lead up to Christmas”.

Councillor Geoffrey Smith, Lead Member for Regeneration and Planning at Erewash Borough Council, said:

“We are committed to supporting local markets and traders and are delighted to launch the new website, which we hope will encourage more local people and visitors to shop at the markets in the Borough”.

Markets provide one of the cheapest, easiest, and lowest-risk options for small and start-up businesses to reach the public, and this website aims to help clarify the process of becoming part of the Erewash trader community.
