Crime prevention and support

Erewash Community Safety Partnership

The Erewash Community Safety Team works very closely with partners to help reduce crime, and attack criminality. In Derbyshire, the lead agency for reducing crime is Derbyshire Police. If you have been a victim of crime and need to report it, please contact the police on:

  • Call 999 : If a crime is in progress, about to be committed, or you need immediate assistance as someone is in danger

  • Call 101 : If a crime has been committed, but you don’t need immediate assistance.

  • You can also report crime on the Derbyshire Police website

Crime Prevention

The Community Safety team runs a scheme called Safer Homes. Safer Homes is working to improve security in the homes of elderly and vulnerable people. The scheme works by giving advice on crime prevention and home security. In some cases we are able to install additional door and window locks and other appropriate equipment free of charge. For more information, or to make a referral call South Derbyshire CVS on 01283 219761 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. Crime Statistics

The partnership works closely with other organisations to share data. If you are interested in finding more about your neighbourhood head to the Police UK website for information on how many calls the local police have had split into different categories.
