Sports and Leisure Services
The Council’s vision for Sport and Leisure is:
“Deliver accessible, exciting and satisfying experiences for local people in Erewash to increase and enjoy their sport and physical activity and improve their health and wellbeing”
This vision is also shared by partners of the ‘Sport, Health and Physical Activity Alliance’ (SHPAA) who have developed a plan in partnership with the Council that sets out a collective commitment to address the broader challenges and opportunities facing sport, health and physical activity over the next few years.
The scope of this plan will focus on ‘improving healthy lifestyles, targeting inactive people and increasing low level activity’ of people living in Erewash. The plan is focused on realising opportunity and change at local level. It highlights the existing provision and partnerships in the borough and the important contribution these are making within local communities.
