Throughout this week, Erewash Borough Council's Community Safety team is promoting the signs of domestic abuse, with the hopes that people will know where to turn for help.
7 October has been designated ‘Derbyshire Day’, where we recognise those who have moved on from unhealthy, abusive relationships and encourage those who might need support to come forward and be supported to make the changes they need to.
The local Domestic Abuse Action Group (which includes the council's Community Safety team) covers Erewash and Amber Valley, and has produced 3 videos, featuring true stores of local people. We hope that these will inspire everyone to know that there is the dedicated support available to help and that it does make a difference to lives. We are releasing one video a day, on our Facebook page Safer Erewash, and YouTube channel, @Erewashbc.
