Social Media and our house rules
Erewash Borough Council uses Facebook, X, Instagram, Nextdoor, Threads and YouTube as part of its online communications. To make sure our online platforms are a safe place for everyone there are a number of guidelines to help you.
It is important to realise that any comments published are public and can be seen by everybody. This means that you are legally responsible for any content you post or share on the council’s pages. You should always check what you are about to publish before posting a comment.
Comments
The council welcomes genuine enquiries and comments related to council services, however comments that are likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others will be removed.
If you wish to make a complaint about the council please use our customer feedback form.
Reporting abuse
If you’re offended by a user’s post please report it directly to the social media network. Find out how to report content on Facebook or how to report abuse on X.
Our responses
Our working hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We’ll deal with enquiries on social media sent outside these times as soon as possible when working hours resume.
