Hearings

Further Hearing Session

Correspondence has taken place between the Inspector and the Council following the closing date for representations on the proposed main modifications to the Core Strategy. The main part of the correspondence related to the supply of housing land in the Borough in the context of the requirements of the National Planning Policy Framework. It arose from some of the representations made on the proposed main modifications – particularly MM5.

The further information provided by the Council provides more detail on individual sites, including those that in the Council's view would comprise the 20% buffer. However, the Inspector is mindful that other parties have not had the opportunity to comment on this. He has decided that the examination would be best served by testing the evidence at a hearing and that this would also be fair to all interested parties.

The inspector proposed to hold a further focused hearing session. This only covered the new information on the housing land supply in the Borough. No other aspects of the Core Strategy or the proposed main modifications were discussed.

The hearing took place on Wednesday 27th November 2013, commencing at 10.00am. It was held in the Committee Room at the Town Hall, Long Eaton.

Hearing Sessions

The Inspector closed the hearings at 4pm on Thursday 2nd May. He will write to the council shortly with his timescale for the next steps. The examination remains open until he has produced his report, but no further material may be submitted unless directly requested by the Inspector.

The hearings opened at 10am on Tuesday 23rd April 2013, and ran over two weeks. They were held at the Town Hall in Long Eaton.
