Derbyshire Local Transport Plan
The Local Transport Plan sets out Derbyshire's transport strategy and a path towards transport investment that will result in a more sustainable and healthy transport system, managing carbon emissions and improving public health and safety, which also supports the local and sub-regional economy.
Erewash and Greater Nottingham Transport Modelling
The councils of Erewash, Broxtowe, Gedling, Nottingham and Rushcliffe are working together to develop a comprehensive evidence base to support the production of their Core Strategy's. An important part of this is to understand more about the impact of growth on the area's local road network.
In conjunction with our Housing Market Area (HMA) partners mentioned above, consultants MVA were commissioned to comprehensively assess the overall transport impacts of each Councils Core Strategy. Erewash makes provision for 6,250 new homes within the Borough by 2028 and in response to the publication of this strategy, it is vital to identify sections of the local network which will see an increase in traffic volume over the next 16 years.
Understanding which roads and junctions are likely to be subject to increased usage as a result of growth has allowed MVA to develop measures to mitigate these impacts utilising the Greater Nottingham Transport Model (GNTM). These will be explored further by councils and implemented as appropriate to help areas accommodate future growth.
