Council Car Parks

Car Parks and Parking

If you have received a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) and wish to pay or appeal please visit www.parksmarter.org.uk.

Erewash Borough Council is a member of the Parking and Traffic Regulations Outside London (PATROL) Adjudication Joint Committee. The Joint Committee publishes an Annual Statement of Accounts which is subject to External Audit and the arrangements for 2014/15 can be found on the PATROL website.

Our car park machines are now fitted with a state of the art WebASLAN back office system which constantly monitors the machines for faults, ticket availability etc. This sends the information over the internet to our Parking Manager which enables them to respond to any issues a lot quicker.

Disabled Parking

Erewash Borough Council do not charge disabled Blue Badge holders to park, however when parking they must adhere to the regulations relating to the car parks i.e: short stay - (check signage for more details) - must be parked in a marked bay not necessarily a disabled bay (these are available in all Council car parks).

Parking Dispensations

Permission to park – known as a dispensation – can be granted to undertake planned works at premises adjacent to parking restrictions, in restricted zones or in residential parking zones. A dispensation will only be granted where it is essential that the vehicle is parked close to the property in order to carry out works and the impact on other road users, businesses or pedestrians, is kept to a minimum. There can only be two active dispensations at an address at any time.

A dispensation notice will allow extended parking in permit holder bays and limited waiting bays at or near the place of works. In extenuating circumstances if it is essential that the vehicle is left on-street close to a property in order to carry out a particular job, permission may be granted to wait on single yellow lines, loading bays or in zonal areas, e.g. pedestrian zones, but only if no other parking or waiting alternatives nearby can be used, and it is safe to do so.

There is a 5 day process time for any requested dispensation and to apply for a Parking Dispensation, please call our Contact Centre on 0115 9072244.
