A targeted campaign is set to be launched in a bid to boost recycling rates in Cotmanhay.
The campaign will begin on Monday 16 September, with Erewash Borough Council's recycling team out and about the area throughout the remainder of September and October promoting the service.
Cotmanhay Junior School is taking part in a ‘Recycling Week’ when pupils will take part in various recycling-themed workshop activities and design a sign for the new recycling site.
The Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Val Clare, will visit the school and judge the children’s signage designs, with the eight class winners each receiving a free blue bin for their family and the overall winning design being incorporated into the signage at the new site.
A new super recycling site is being installed in Cotmanhay to encourage residents in the area to recycle more. The recycling site will be in the car park on Beauvale Drive opposite Cotmanhay Junior School, and will be officially launched on Wednesday 2 October. Derbyshire County Council’s Waste Exhibition vehicle and the Erewash Borough Council’s recycling collection vehicle will also visit the site.
Leaflets will be dropping through Cotmanhay residents’ doors from Monday 16 September promoting the site and as part of the recycling campaign residents will have the chance to win one of 100 blue bins in the free prize draw by simply returning the completed form by midday on Thursday 10 October.
