Temporary Road Closures July 2017

Here is the list of temporary closures across Ilkeston and Long Eaton throughout July 2017. The list will be updated throughout the month.


Road Closure: Little Eaton Carnival Parade

WHEN: Saturday 1 July 2017 between 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm.

WHERE: Westley Crescent - from the Bell and Harp Public House to its junction with Alfreton Road

Alfreton Old Road - from its junction with Westley Crescent to its junction with Jack O’Darley’s Bridge

Alfreton Road (B6179) - from its junction with Jack O’Darley’s Bridge to its junction with Duffield Road

Duffield Road - from its junction with Alfreton Road (B6179) to the entrance of St Peter’s Park

REASON: to hold the Little Eaton Carnival Parade.


Road Closure: Stanley Village Gala Street Parade - Saturday 1 July 2017

WHEN: Saturday 1 July 2017 between 12.30 pm and 1.00 pm.

WHERE: Derby Road - from its junction with Dale Road to Station Road

Station Road - from its junction with Derby Road to its junction with Coronation Road

Coronation Road - in its entirety

Park Avenue - in its entirety

REASON: to hold the Stanley Village Gala Street Parade.


Emergency Temporary Road Closure - Monday 3 July to Sunday 9 July

WHEN: Monday 03 July to Sunday 09 July 2017 - 23.00hrs to 05.00hrs each night.

WHERE: Station Road, Long Eaton at the level crossing.

REASON: To facilitate works at the footbridge.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Main Street - Cross Street - Waverley Street - A6005 Nottingham Road - Station Road and vice versa.

Access will be maintained whenever reasonably possible on the affected length of road. The road will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.

Derbyshire County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused whilst work takes place. Anyone needing further information should ring Call Derbyshire 01629 533 190.

This notice is given under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to prohibit its use by traffic.

REASON: to hold a craft fair


Road Closure: West Hallam Well Dressing Festival - Saturday 15 July 2017

WHEN: Saturday 15 July 2017 between 10.00 am and 5.00 pm

WHERE: The Village - from a point on the western boundary of number 31, The Village, West Hallam to the eastern
boundary of the Village Hall (access to the Punch Bowl public house will not be affected)

School Square - all. Upper car park of The Dales Shopping Centre - all of the adopted highway along the centre of the upper car park

REASON: to hold the West Hallam Well Dressing Festival.


Road Closure: Brackley Gate, Morley.

 WHEN: Monday 17 July to Friday 21 July 2017.

WHERE: Brackley Gate, Morley.

REASON: To facilitate pipe replacement.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Sandy lane - Coxbench Road - Smalley Mill Road - Church Street - Lady Lea Road - Main Street - Church Lane - Dobholes Lane - Main Road - Woodside - Cloves Hill - Brackley Gate.


Road Closure: The Ridings, Ockbrook, Monday 24 July to Friday 28 July 2017.

WHEN: Monday 24 July to Friday 28 July 2017.

WHERE: The Ridings, Ockbrook, from a point south of its junction with Bare Lane to its junction with Pares Way.

REASON: To facilitate carriageway resurfacing.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: Church Lane - Collier Lane - Victoria Avenue - Flood Street - Bare Lane - Green Lane - The Ridings and vice versa.
