The annual Festival of Water is coming to Ilkeston over the 2017 August Bank Holiday Weekend and over 100 boats will be moored along the Erewash Canal.

Sawley Marina Autumn Market

Sawley Marina Market and Open weekend is on 2nd & 3rd September, starting at 10am and closing at 4pm.

There is no entrance fee.

Sawley Marina does have a reasonably large car park, but organisers do ask where possible if please can come on the bus or walk.

Over the weekend there are a variety of things happening, from dog displays, boat handling sessions, and fire service displays. There will be stalls at the market selling crafts to pickles and preserves.

Long Eaton Christmas Lights

A magical evening of festive fun, seasonal sights, live music and free family entertainment will all be on offer at this years Long Eaton’s big Christmas Lights switch.

The Mayor of Erewash, will ‘light up’ the town at 7pm to officially launch the Christmas season.

Long Eaton Silver Prize Band will get the event underway the pedestrianised Market Place at 5.30pm before a Local Band takes the stage at 6.20pm when the crowds will be able to sing along to the classic hits and Christmas songs.

There will also be a fun fair and more to keep the whole family entertained.
