Contaminated Land

We have a legal duty to inspect the borough to identify and act to bring about the remediation of any 'contaminated land'.

The legislation that requires us to do this contains a precise definition of the situation that must exist for land to be classified as contaminated land.

To ensure that this duty is discharged in a rational, ordered and efficient manner we are required to produce a written strategy that outlines how it will deal with this task. A copy of the strategy can be requested from Environmental Health, Erewash Borough Council, Merlin House, Merlin Way, Ilkeston, DE7 4RA or by email This email address is being protected from spambots.
