The community waste collections are a 16-week pilot scheme that will run until 23 March.  They are for small bulky waste items only. Here are all the remaining dates, locations and the full list of what can and cannot be taken to the collection points.

The following items can be taken to the collection points: Items that cannot be taken to the collection points:
Carpet (cut into a manageable size that can be lifted into a refuse vehicle) Large items more suitable for the chargeable collection service eg mattresses, wardrobes, settees, sofas, recliners (manual /electric)
Bagged soil (up to four black bin bags that can be picked up safely). Construction waste/materials i.e. hardcore, rubble, bricks, concrete blocks, paving slabs etc
Small wooden items e.g. fencing panels with each panel no more than 1200mm (4 feet) wide, doors, bed frames, head boards (not including mattresses) Recycling/card board boxes etc that would normally be collected at kerbside
Unwanted/damaged toys Very large/heavy items i.e. oil tanks, cars, motorcycles
Small fixtures eg skirting boards no longer than 1500mm (5 feet), pedestals, wc unit, small vanity unit. Items that are dangerous/unsafe by design or condition
One off items eg aluminium greenhouse frame (glass must be securely tied boxed and/or wrapped) Engine/vehicle parts
Old books, DVDs/CDs. Weapons and firearms (including air rifles/pistols/knives).
Small items of scrap metal eg unwanted tools. Hazardous / biological waste or materials for which specific licences are required for disposal eg clinical waste.
Clothing, bedding, cushions, textiles Animal bedding.
Garden pots and garden furniture sets Plaster board.
Small items of furniture e.g. bed side units, stools, small tables, dining room chairs, small book cases (up to 5 shelves), head boards, coffee tables, deck-chairs, shelving, TV/Video/DVD units TV/computer screens
Small household electrical items eg toasters, hairdryers, kettles, irons, scales, hand mixers, bedside lamps etc Tyres
Glass and mirrors (these items must not be broken and placed safely in a box before bringing to your local collection point) Car Batteries.
Mechanical reclining chairs will be collected as long as the motors and metal frame work have been removed Tins of paint
  Food/garden/residual waste suitable for disposal via the kerb side collection servic
  Asbestos, solvents, chemicals or any hazardous or flammable materials waste.
  Gas bottles
  Commercial, trade or industrial waste
The council reserves the right to exclude/reject any item(s) not considered suitable for the service.    White Goods:  Domestic fridge/freezer; cooker; washing machine; rumble dryer; washer/dryer; ovens; hobs;microwaves
