Local freelance artist, Diana Shepherd, will be exhibiting her ‘Five Ways to Wellbeing' arts and wellbeing projects at Erewash Museum’s Lally Gallery from Friday 4 January - Saturday 23 February.
In the summer of 2018, Diana opened up a studio to members of the public in the rEvive shop in Long Eaton to launch her ‘Creative Rambling’ arts project. Inspired by the various natural materials they found during walks around West Park, artwork was then created back in the workshop.
‘Fill Your Jar’ uses the shape of a jar to represent personal experiences and how ‘Five Ways’ are being fitted into people’s lives. Diana worked alongside members of five local help groups from around the borough to create artwork representing how we can take care of ourselves in a more creative and engaging way.
Diana is the lead artist for Arts and Wellbeing Organisation 'All Being Well' which was funded by Erewash Borough Council, Derbyshire County Council and Erewash CVS.
Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Leisure and Culture, said:
“This is a very unique exhibition which very cleverly represents how wellbeing can be depicted through artwork. I am very happy that Erewash Museum has the facilities to allow local artists to showcase their talents.”
