A magical day of fairy themed activities and live shows will take place at Erewash Museum when the Enchanted Garden event returns on Saturday 14 September between 10.30am and 3.30pm.

Children will have the chance to meet the Queen of the Fairies in her sparkly grotto, hunt for the magical fairy doors around the museum grounds and join in with the fairy craft activities including making your own Autumn Fairy. People are also encouraged to get into the spirit of the occasion by dressing as a fairy or an elf.

Themed live shows will be taking place throughout the day with the ‘Over the Rainbow and Under the Sea’ show featuring fairy, rainbow and unicorn hosts joining Twinkle the unicorn puppet on an adventure to find the rainbow! The shows will be interactive and allow for children to join in with magic, bubble popping and dancing.

There will be three shows throughout the day at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 2pm, each running for 30 minutes. The shows will include meet and greet and photo opportunities following each storytelling session.

All shows will be free with suggested donations for photo opportunities. Some activities will be chargeable.

Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:

“The enchanted garden day is always an extremely popular event and it’s an absolute delight to see how it ignites the imagination of visitors, young and old.”

The Old Stables Tea Rooms will be open for people to enjoy a well-earned rest from the magic and sparkle.

Erewash Museum is in Ilkeston Town centre, a short walk from the Market Place. Opening hours are Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am-4pm, and Monday to Saturday during school holidays.
