Wellbeing Wednesdays

Join us at Victoria Park to take time out, have some company, be active and try new things. Our Wellbeing programme takes place every fortnight meeting in the bowls pavilion and we go out and use the park for light exercise and for inspiration for art,design, poetry or whatever you would like to try.

Visit Santa in the Stables, £2.50 per child including a gift , no booking required. Please note we will be operating a numbered queueing system on a first come first served basis, please come early to avoid disapointment as Santa can only see so many children each day!

Winter Solstice

winter solstice 2017Winter Solstice - Bring colour and light to brighten one of the shortest days of the year.

There are a number of different activities taking places across Victoria Park and Erewash Museum. To help you decide what to come to and when, here’s a list of activities and times:

  • Between 10.30am and 3.30pm. As part of his busy schedule, Santa Claus will also be at the Museum! If you would like to see him, the cost is £2.50 including a present, and places are allocated on a first come first serve basis on the day.
  • 12 noon – 4pm, make a free lantern for the Winter Solstice event as part of your Museum visit, whether you choose to see Santa or not.
  • 2pm – 4pm, lantern making in Victoria Park’s Bowling Pavillion.
  • 4pm – 4.30pm – Watch the Victoria Park Band Stand being decorated ready for the procession.
  • 4.15pm, lantern procession starting from Erewash Museum making its way over to Victoria Park.
  • 4.30pm, lantern procession will arrive at Victoria Park. Meet us at the Band Stand.
  • 4.30pm – 5.30pm the lantern procession will move around Victoria Park with a variety of entertainment on the way!

Christmas Eve Carol Service

The traditional Civic Carol Service is to be held on the Ilkeston Market Place on Christmas Eve commencing at 7.00pm.  Members of Ilkeston Churches will be joining The Salvation Army Band and the Mayor is delighted to invite you to attend.
