Upcoming Road Closures 

  • Hopwell Road, Draycott: 15-22 January. Derbyshire County Council has implemented an Emergency Temporary Road Closure to Hopwell Road, Draycott between points 250 metres and 300 metres north of its junction with A6005 Victoria Street to facilitate flood damage repairs to railway. The suggested alternative route is B5010 Nottingham Road, A6005 Draycott Road/Derby Road and vice-versa.

  • Pelham Street, Ilkeston - 18-29 January. Derbyshire County Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to Pelham Street, Ilkeston in its entirety to facilitate carriageway resurfacing. It will be between 9 am and 4pm daily. The suggested alternative route is either Lord Haddon Road, B6007 Manners Road and Bath Street or Bath Street, Station Road, A6007 Chalons Way, B6007 Manners Road and Lord Haddon Road.

  • Sawley Road, Breaston: 13-14 March and 20-21 March (11:45pm to 08:45am). Derbyshire County Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to Sawley Road, Breaston between points 600 metres and 700 metres south of its junction with Meadow Lane to faciliate level crossing tests. The suggested alternative route is Breaston - Long Eaton - Sawley and vice-versa.

  • From 11 December 2020 to 31 January 2021 Public Footpath number 22 at Dale Abbey Parish over the wooden boardwalk will be closed. This is to facilitate public safety due a rotten boardwalk which is due to be repaired.
    Alternative Route: From the north, Footpath number 21 – Footpath number 26 – Footpath number 28 – Footpath number 24 – Footpath number 23. Vice versa from the south.

  • Temporary Footpath Closure No 7 Draycott. From 19 October to 5 March Derbyshire County Council intends to close the footpath from its junction with public footpath number 6 to the junction of public footpath number 9 with Wilne Road to allow for consutruction works. No alternative route is recommended. Access will be maintained, whenever reasonably possible, on the affected length of footpath. The footpath will re-open as soon as the work is finished. This may be earlier than advertised.

  • Public Footpath 14, Draycott & Church Wilne Parish. Sunday 1 November to 28 February 2021. This will be for 230 metres around Derby Road to allow for work to reinstate the canal and towpath. No alternative route is recommended.

  • Temporary 50mph speed limit - A61 Alfreton Road, Breadsall, Monday 30 November 2020 to Tuesday 30 November 2021. Northbound: from its junction with Croft Lane (Pektron Island) to a point 400m north of that junction. Southbound: from its junction with A38 Trunk Road (Little Eaton Island) to its junction with Croft Lane (Pektron Island), a distance of 825m. This is for the proposed construction of a new controlled pedestrian crossing. More information can be found on the One Network website.

  • Monday 11 January to Friday 30 April 2021. Wilne road, Draycott. This is to facilitate renewal of water treatment apparatus. Market Street - A6005 Victoria Road - Sawley Road and vice versa is the alternative route.

  • Eaton Bank, Little Eaton. On Monday 25 January, Derbyshire County Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to Eaton Bank, Little Eaton between its junctions with Rigga Lane and Woodlands Close for the examination of BT poles. The suggested alternative route is Duffield Bank, Red Lane, Makeney Road, Mellors Lane, Town Street, Church Street, Portway, Alfreton Road, Coxbench Road, B6179 Derby Road, Duffield Road and vice-versa.

  • Derbyshire County Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to Pelham Avenue, Ilkeston between its junctions with Bath Street and Pelham Street to facilitate carriageway widening and improvement works. The suggested alternative route is Pelham Street, Bath Street and vice-versa.

  • On Monday 8 February until Thursday 11 February, Derbyshire County Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to Thorneywood Road, Long Eaton between points 75 metres and 100 metres west of its junctions with Stafford Street to facilitate water supply renewal. The suggested alternative route is Stafford Street, Station Road and vice-versa.

  • Green Lane, Ilkeston: 15-28 February. On Monday 15 February, Derbyshire County Council will implement a Temporary Road Closure to Green Lane, Ilkeston between its junctions with Park Road and St Johns Road to facilitate new water connections. The suggested alternative route is Park Road, Heathfield Avenue, Andrew Avenue and vice-versa.
