What goes in your blue recycling bin
All of these items should be placed in your blue bin or green recycling bags. Please do not include other items as these cannot be recycled in our collections.
- Plastic bottles (drinks, toiletries, cleaning products) such as milk bottles, pop bottles, water bottles, shower gel, shampoo, fabric conditioner, bleach bottles.
- Plastic pots, tubs and trays such as margarine tubs, ice cream tubs, yoghurt pots, cream pots, meat trays, fruit punnets, clean ready meal food trays
- Plastic bags (must be folded and tied in knot)
- Food and drink cans (please rinse food cans)
- Foil - scrunched foil, foil food dishes (must be clean)
- Aerosol cans such as deodorant, polish (must be empty)
- Food or drink cartons - such as juice, milk, soup (please rinse)
- Paper - such as newspapers, magazines, junk mail, greetings cards (no ribbons, bows), envelopes, wrapping paper, writing paper, printing paper, shredded paper (place inside a small cardboard box)
- Cardboard - such as cereal and washing powder boxes, egg boxes, toothpaste boxes, packaging
- Glass bottles and jars (please rinse, lids can be left on).
Please help us to recycle by:
- Placing all items in your bin loose and not in plastic bags
- Rinsing any food items
- Large cardboard boxes should be broken down into smaller pieces and put in the bin
- Crew may not collect cardboard if wet or not neatly stacked.
Do not put these in your blue bin:
- Crisp and sweet bags
- Blister pill packets
- Plastic food film
- Plastic food / pet pouches
- Plastic toys or other items
- Polystyrene
- Toothpaste tubes
- Nappies
- Batteries
- Vapes
- Electrical Items
- Any metal items not listed above
- Drinking glasses
- Pyrex
- Mirrors
- Sheet window glass
- Wood
- Textiles
- Dirty pizza boxes
- Food
