Information on the different ways that you can pay your business rates.

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is a simple, safe and convenient way to pay your business rates, with almost 70% of rsate payers now opting to pay by this method.  

Paying by Direct Debit will give you peace of mind as you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. It is very easy to set-up and means you will always be sure to pay the correct amount at the correct time. You also have the choice of three payment dates of the 1st, 15th or 25th of the month.

Once your Direct Debit is set up this will be continued through to each financial year, unless you cancel the Direct Debit and the dates that the payments will be taken from your bank account will be detailed on you Council tax Bill.

If you’re the bank account holder and have authority to complete instructions without another account holder and the bill you want to pay is in your name, you can complete our online form.

You can make a payment on line 24/7 all you need is, your Council Tax account number and your debit or credit card to hand.

Erewash Borough Council Payments

By Telephone

You can pay by phone on our automated Card Payment Line 0115 9072222. This service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

You’ll need the reference number printed on your Council Tax bill or invoice, along with your debit or credit card details. We accept most major cards.

Once your payment is made and approved by your card company, we will process it within three working days.

By BACS

If you wish to pay your business rates by BACS you will need the following information:

Bank: Lloyds Bank Plc
Account number: 01226906
Sort code 30-96-18

PLEASE NOTE: You must put your full name and business rates account number as reference or we won't know who the payment has come from and your account won't reflect your true balance.

Paypoint

If you prefer to pay business rates in person or in cash/debit card you can do this 24/7 at any outlet that is displaying the Paypoint Logo.

You can pay with cash or cheque at a post office or any shop with a PayPoint sign.

You will need to present your business rates bill as this holds a unique barcode and will ensure payment can be taken and reaches your account promptly.

Payment made via Paypoint or the Post Office can take up to 2 working days to reach your account and so please make sure that you allow time to meet the due instalment date.
