Rough Sleeping

We work with a variety of partners to support rough sleepers.

The Duty to Refer

The duty to refer requires public authorities in England to notify a local housing authority, such as Erewash Borough Council, of service users they think may be homeless or at risk of becoming homeless within 56 days.

If you are under a duty to refer or are an organisation working to provide support to someone who is at risk of homelessness within 56 days please complete the duty to refer form using the 'Housing Assistance Referral Portal' link on this page so that we can provide the appropriate support to the household. Please ensure that you have the client’s permission before making a referral.

Advice from other agencies

If you are worried about becoming homeless Shelter (0808 800 4444) and Direct Help and Advice (01332 287 850) can offer advice.
