Vehicle Security

Securing your vehicle is essential to prevent unauthorised access and safeguard your belongings.

Vehicle Security

Ensure your vehicle is as secure as possible by following these simple steps

Keep valuables out of sight

Keep everything left in your vehicle locked away out of sight. Even an empty bag on a seat may attract attention. Windows and locks are expensive to replace!

Ensure you always lock your vehicle

Sounds simple, but an easy thing to forget! if you have an alarm, use it. Don’t nip back inside to get something and leave your car running.

Use a steering wheel lock (or gear and brake lock)

These are tough locks that go on your steering wheel to make it harder for someone to steal your car. They also act as a visual deterrent, as they are bright in colour.

Park safely and securely

Cars are less likely to be stolen or broken into when parked on your drive. If you have to park on the street, use a busy, well-lit area, near CCTV (if possible) to put thieves off.

Keep your keys safe

Ensure keyless entry fobs are kept in an RFID blocking (Faraday) pouch or tin box. This will stop thieves ‘reading’ the signal and being able to steal your vehicle. Keep keys away from doors and windows to stop them being easily taken.

Use a vehicle alarm and immobiliser

Alarms will make thieves think twice about whether to break in to search a car. An immobiliser makes it very hard for someone to drive off with your car.
