The museum wants to support the educational delivery within local schools through offering a selection of services suitable for various needs. Through visits and hireable services such as loan boxes, Erewash Museum is open to supporting schools and tailoring services as needed.
Loan Boxes
If you are interested in hiring one of our loan boxes, we have a form available. Please email museum@erewash.gov.uk New loan boxes are constantly being created, so please continue to check this page to see all our updated materials. The museum currently covers the themes of: Viking & Anglo-Saxon (KS1& KS2), First World War (KS2 & KS3) and Second World War (KS2 & KS3).
School Visits
The museum is available for classroom visits, both during and outside of opening hours. Unfortunately, the museum is unable to provide tailored teaching workshops currently, but we are happy to discuss other activities during visits, such as collections handling sessions. During opening hours, the museum has a self-guided trail (suitable for KS1 & KS2) for pupils to complete.
The museum can cater for group sizes of up to 30 pupils (plus staff) and can provide a space for lunch and the gardens for outdoor play/engagement.

- Self - led School Museum Visit (Max 30 students) Mon, Tues, Weds only (Museum closed to the public): £75.00
- Self - led School Museum Visit (Max 30 students) with educational support (Educational talk and resources): £150.00
- Additional Educational Talk (Max 30 students): £50.00
- Outreach School Visit (Max 30 Students) Mon - Fri: £200.00
- Additional Charge Per Student: £5.00
- Cultural/ Heritage Education Event: Price dependent on activity. Price on request.
