Street Cleaning

We are responsible for sweeping streets and removing litter from public spaces.

Litter Bins

Erewash Borough Council provide approximately 1,100 litter bins across the public highway and green spaces.  

Please use our litter bins to dispose of bagged dog waste and any other litter you create while you are out and about.  It is illegal to use litter bins to throw away general rubbish from your home. If you are caught you may receive a fine. 

Report a problem to us

You can report any of the following online:

  • Litter
  • Fallen leaves
  • A dead animal on the roadside
  • Needles and sharps, in public places
  • A full or damaged litter bin
  • Street sweeping
  • Graffiti
  • A problem with a street name plate
  • Cutting of grass / trees / hedges

Report an issue

A spillage or obstacle in the road causing a danger to traffic should be reported to the Highways team at Derbyshire County Council.

Report a blocked drain or gully to Derbyshire County Council

Derbyshire County Council Highways Department have responsibility for cleaning out highway 'road gullies'.

Report flooding or drainage problems on a road

Sewage on the road should be reported to Severn Trent Water.
