Deadline to apply to vote by post

The deadline to apply to vote by post at the elections held on Thursday 1 May is 5pm on Monday 14 April 2025.  

Applications can be made online or downloaded at gov.uk

Deadline to apply to vote by proxy

If you are unable to vote yourself at the polling station, you can appoint someone to place your vote as your proxy. The deadline to apply to vote by proxy at the elections held on Thursday 1 May 2025 is 5pm on Wednesday 23 April 2025.  Applications can be made online or downloaded here.

We will send your nominated proxy a poll card that will allow them to vote on your behalf at your polling station on Thursday 1 May 2025.  Your proxy can apply to vote by post on your behalf, but they must complete an application form and submit it by the postal voting deadline, which is 5pm on 14 April 2025.
