Erewash Borough Council is undertaking public consultation on an amended Core Strategy Review.

Sustainability Appraisal.

The Erewash Core Strategy is currently in review.

The Borough Council are required to produce and maintain a Local Plan which puts in place a positive framework for planning in Erewash Borough.

The purpose of report is to publish the Proposed Erewash Core Strategy Review and supporting Sustainability Appraisal for consultation prior to submission to the Secretary of State for public examination.

The Localism Bill removed the requirement for local planning authorities to formally submit an Authorities Monitoring Report to the Secretary of State.

A large number of largely non-strategic planning guidance are included as part of the Borough’s Saved Policies document.

Community involvement continues to play an ever-increasingly important role in encouraging local residents, as well as professional stakeholders in the planning system, encouraging them to become involved in the production of planning documents for Erewash.

The Local Development Scheme sets out a timeline of document production for the Council’s replacement Local Plan.

As advised by Government guidance concerning the production of Habitats Regulation Assessment, the Council wishes to seek the specific views of Natural England in its capacity as a statutory nature conservation body (SNCB).

Erewash Borough Council is committed to engaging with neighbouring authorities to identify, discuss and resolve strategic planning matters which span administrative boundaries.
