Bold as Brass

Music-lovers across Erewash are being invited to a summer season of proms – as the borough council’s popular Bold as Brass concerts get under way again.This year’s calendar of free performances feature a total of seven over two months.

All take place on Sundays apart from the finale, which will be at the Erewash Museum in Ilkeston on Saturday 17 August.

This is the full programme that has been unveiled by Erewash Borough Council:

  • Sunday 2 June: Ilkeston Brass Band, Victoria Park, Ilkeston, 2pm.
  • Sunday 9 June: Long Eaton Silver Prize Band, West Park, Long Eaton, 2pm.
  • Sunday 7 July: Derwent Valley Wind Band, Stanley Village Hall, 2pm.
  • Sunday 14 July: Derwent Valley Wind Band, West Hallam, 2pm.
  • Sunday 21 July: Ilkeston Brass Band, Victoria Park, Ilkeston, 6pm.
  • Sunday 11 August: Silver Prize Band, West Park, Long Eaton, 2pm.
  • Saturday 17 August: Ilkeston Brass Band, Erewash Museum, Ilkeston, 1pm.

The Erewash Museum is near Ilkeston Market Place and is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 11am to 4pm. Entry is free.

Ilkeston Charter Fair

Bonfire & Fireworks Display

Chestnut Fair

Christmas Lights

Service of Remembrance

A Christmas service of remembrance will be held at Bramcote Crematorium on December 1 in the Serenity Chapel. Starts 6.30pm. The service will be conducted by Nell Brooker and music will be provided by Erewash Phoenix Choir. The names of loved ones can be read out, which can be provided beforehand or given on the day. New for this year, loved ones photos can be added to to a slideshow.
