Access to CON29 Information and Personal Searches

Full Official Search

For a full official search please use the LLC1, CON29 and CON29O forms available from the from the Law Society (applicant's own in the same format may be used).

Search forms can be submitted by post or email and payment must be made by Bacs. Searches can also be submitted via the NLIS Hub.

Personal Searches

A personal search of the Local Land Charges Register may be carried out by any person. There is currently no charge for this service.

To obtain individual questions from the Con29 / Con29O forms (and personal search if applicable), applicants must submit the Con29 / Con29O together with a clearly marked plan to the Land Charges Department. If carrying out searches for multiple properties please complete one form per property. Please contact the Land Charges Department for individual question application forms.

There will be fees payable if Con29 information is requested. Search forms can be submitted by post or email and payment must be made by Bacs.

Information needed

Name of the company or person who wishes to carry out the search, contact details if these are not already held on the Land Charges database, the full address of the property or site to be searched and a clearly marked plan.

The reference when paying should be ‘LC, the number of addresses being paid for, and see remittance’ (e.g. LC x 6, see remittance or LC x1, see remittance)

A remittance email must be sent for every payment giving details of the addresses and cost. For example:

  • 5 x £8.47 & 1 x £9.12 = £51.47
