It’s summertime and the living is easy at Erewash Museum as it marks the height of the school break with a summer holiday salute from Monday 19 August to Friday 23 August.
The themed week will celebrate everything that the British love about summer holidays – with the summer-long Beach Play Area in the museum grounds playing a central role.
Sandcastles, deck chairs, ice cream, themed crafts and much more will be on the seaside agenda, with the family fun all on offer between 11am-3pm daily.
On the Friday (23rd), a Sandy Craft Day will give children the chance to create a sand art picture. This activity is £2 per child.
Councillor Mike Wallis, Erewash Borough Council’s Lead Member for Culture and Leisure, says:
“We all like to be beside the seaside and our beach area at the museum attracts thousands of visitors every year as families enjoy the holiday atmosphere. So this week will celebrate everything we love about summer – come rain or shine, as the British weather is always a player in the holidays!”
