Residents can join the Mayor of Erewash, Councillor Sue Beardsley, when she hosts Erewash Borough Council’s Annual Civic Service on Sunday 17 November at Ilkeston Methodist Church (Nottingham Road Fellowship).

The service will begin at 3pm with the Mayor’s Chaplain, the Reverend Stephen Pratt, taking the service. Anyone attending is asked to be seated by 2.45pm at the church, which is opposite the Asda garage on Nottingham Road.

The theme of the event will be helping young people as the Mayor is raising funds for Action for Children, which is also supported by the Methodist Church, and Rainbows Children’s Hospice. This year’s service will also feature a performance by the Cotmanhay Junior School Choir.

Councillor Sue Beardsley, the Mayor of Erewash, says:

“I am looking forward to this service and delighted that the children from Cotmanhay Junior School will be taking part – it adds to the theme I wanted for this Civic Service, that of celebrating and supporting young people. I will also be honoured and delighted to welcome members of the community and hope they are able to join me for this special afternoon.”
