Erewash Borough Council has confirmed that its town hall receptions in Ilkeston and Long Eaton Town Halls will be closed to the public from midday on Wednesday 6 January.

The move is aimed at helping to protect the safety and wellbeing of visitors and staff under the new national lockdown restrictions now in place across England.

Members of the public who wish to make enquiries about benefits advice, homelessness support, licensing, planning or other services should call the council’s contact centre on 0115 907 2244.

Leader of Erewash Borough Council, Councillor Carol Hart, says:

“Visitor and staff safety is our main priority when making this decision, which is why we are asking residents to use our services online or call our contact centre during the period of national lockdown. We hope you will join with us in respecting the guidelines set down by the government to ensure that we can all stay safe.”
