FareShare are asking residents to consider volunteering to join their food drive team to help fight hunger in the UK this Christmas.

Residents across Erewash are asked to visit their local Tesco stores to help with a Food Collection which takes place on Thursday 30 November, Friday 1 and Saturday 2 December at their stores UK-wide.

Volunteers are needed to help collect food donations from customers for a few hours in their local store, and also to hand out the FareShare ‘shopping list’ and collecting donations from customers - all whilst spreading some Christmas cheer.

Tesco have agreed to top up the food collected by a further 20% donation, so the more food collected, the better!

FareShare is a UK wide charity fighting hunger and food waste. They redistribute food that would otherwise go to waste, to frontline organisations supporting vulnerable people such as children’s breakfast clubs, community centres homeless hostels and refuges.

The Food Drive Volunteer Food Collection will take place on 30th November, 1st and 2nd December 2017 at Tesco stores UK wide. Visit the FareShare website at to sign up for a shift - You can sign up as an individual or create a team to take some friends, colleagues or family along with you!
